Ma’s House: Shinnecock Portraits

From Ma’s House:

”…The exhibit will feature a stunning collection of photographs of Shinnecock people captured by talented Shinnecock photographers. In addition, we will showcase a series of archival Shinnecock photos that offer a glimpse into the rich history of this vibrant culture.

The exhibit promises to be an immersive experience with dynamic programming that explores the intersection of photography and archival work. Visitors will have the opportunity to learn more about the art of photography and how it has been used to document and preserve the Shinnecock culture over time.”

“…Throughout this exhibition, weekly workshops will focus on classes that explore the intros to photography, free studio and portrait photography days, and archival scanning practices and get-togethers.”

“Shinnecock Portraits – Faces of a Living Culture” will be on view by appointment at Ma’s House from April 8th to May 20th.”
